We've all seen it. We've all met couples whom we admire. These were the couples who appeared to have the perfect marriage. They were the couples you knew they would be able to live together. They were the perfect couple. They were until they broke up. They got back together and the husband went out. The family and friends made bets on how long until the husband crawled back, begging his wife to forgive him for his mistake. It didn't happen. It was a surprise to everyone, he didn't come back. Not ever. And so the couple split. Everyone is now left wondering. Why do some men do not return after their marriage is solid, while others struggle to survive? In the next post I'll discuss a few of my thoughts.

There are many things that don't go as they seem. The "perfect" couple may not exist. It's impossible to achieve perfection all the times. The appearances you make may not be true. A couple may look rough, or seem to be fighting, but at least there is honestly and an investment. Although a couple may appear perfect and not be fighting but they're covering up some important issues that could come back to hurt them.

The Couple Grows Further and More Disparate During the Actual Separation: I am aware that I sometimes sound like a broken record when talking about the importance of creating an ongoing communication plan in a trial or marital split. My own experience has shown me that this is essential. Many couples drift apart and lose touch with their partners. This is something I see often. You mean to talk or text. It's true. When you look around, you notice that so many years have been passed since your last call. You worry about awkwardness. Things just deteriorate from there.

While the couple began as a bit tense and showing some potential, their relationship gradually declines until they begin to feel there's not enough. Then they give up. A lot of people want to "shake up" their marriages or "scare" their spouse to change. The idea is that no one will be able to claim that everything is perfect. The status quo isn't acceptable. When you're separated the idea becomes clear that you must changes or else your marriage could be over. There are many good intentions and enter this with great intentions. It's difficult to make real changes. Sometimes outside help may be needed. It is not always possible or even feasible for everyone to accomplish it. Couples who are not eager to wait around for this to happen. They get annoyed and think that regardless of how long they wait, it is not going to change their preferences. Thus, it's unproductive to sit and be waiting.
