We've witnessed many times. We've all met couples whom everyone was jealous of. They were the ones who were married to perfection. They were the one you only hoped to grow old with. They were the perfect couple. They were perfect until they fell out. The husband eventually moved out and they split up. The family and friends made bets on the time until the husband walked back, begging his wife to forgive him for his mistake. It didn't happen. Much to everyone's surprise, he didn't ever return. Not ever. They ended up getting divorced. The whole thing has left everyone in dismay. It's a mystery as to why some men don't return to their marriages even when they seem to be in good shape. In other relationships, they are barely holding on and this makes them feel lost. Here are a few theories I have.

The reality is not always as they seem. It's unlikely that the "perfect" couple is actually there. There is no perfect person. Appearances are not reality. A couple may look rough or appear to fight but at the very least, they have an investment. Although a couple might appear perfect and never fight, it is because they fail to recognize or address the real issues that will be a problem later on.

When it comes to the Actual Separation, The Couple grow further and further apart I am aware that I can sound like an unreliable record when I talk about the need for setting up a regular communication schedule in the event of a trial or separation. But, this is something I've learned through personal experience. It's normal for couples to lose contact and drift apart. You'd like to talk or call. You really do. As you look around, you see that a lot of time has gone by since the last phone call. You worry about awkwardness. Everything just keeps getting worse.

The couple might be at first a bit estranged but still show a lot of promise. However, the relationship begins to deteriorate and either or both of them feel there isn’t enough. They eventually leave. Many people seek to "shake up" their marriages or to "scare" their spouse to change. The idea is that no one can pretend that things are normal any longer. Both parties cannot continue to accept the status quo. Separation is a sign that something must be altered. This can be done with good intentions. But, real change can be hard. Sometimes, it will require outside help. Some people are not able or willing to carry it about or to maintain it. Some spouses aren't willing to sit and wait for it to take place. They feel disappointed and think that they'll never get the results they want.
