Many couples break up in hope of "shaking up" their relationship or "scaring" their spouse into making changes. The idea is that no one is able to pretend that everything is normal no longer. Both parties cannot continue to remain in the same place. If you divorce from one another, it is clear that either of you must make some modifications or your marriage may end. You can have good intentions and enter this with big plans. Real change can be hard. Sometimes, outside help is required. Some people are not able or will to get it done. Some spouses simply don't have the patience to sit and watch it occur. They are frustrated and believe that regardless of how long they wait nothing will change for them. It's a waste to wait around.
